Spider golfer Lou Baker has received academic accolades for his stellar work on the course and in the classroom. The Richmond grad student was named to the 2024 Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team.
It's the second such honor for Baker during his Spider career. He recently finished his Masters in Liberal Arts while serving as a leader for the golf program.
On the links, Baker put together an incredible final season. He carded an average of 72.83 strokes over 23 rounds, good for ninth-best in a single season at UR. Baker notched five top-20 finishes and was an All-A10 pick for the second straight year.
For his Richmond career, Baker's 73.84 scoring average ranks fifth in program history. His excellence in both areas helped the Spiders place fourth at the recent National Invitational.
Baker joins standouts from Davidson, George Washington and VCU on the All-Academic Team. He joins a small group as one of just three Spiders to achieve the feat twice.
Baker has left his mark on Richmond golf through top performances and strong academic work. He's a prime example of excelling with clubs and in the classroom.
