Golfer Hits Helicopter with Errant Shot in Bizarre Incident

You'll Never Guess What This Minnesota Golfer Managed To Hit With An Errant Shot!

Friends, I've been covering the zany world of golf for years now and thought I'd seen it all - but this latest story took even me by surprise! According to reports, a Refuge Golf Course in Oak Grove, MN was the scene of an absolutely bonkers incident last weekend.

The city was using a helicopter to spray for pesky mosquitoes (can you blame them with all that lovely Minnesota bog land?) when all of a sudden, the pilot noticed something flying straight at the aircraft! Upon further inspection after landing, it turned out to be none other than a solitary golf ball that had somehow managed to strike the helicopter mid-flight!

Now obviously hitting a tiny ball that high up in the air would require one heck of a slice (or was it a hook?) but the deputies who responded could find no one stepping up to claim the shot. The motorized mayhem caused some damage but thankfully the pilot landed safely. Can you imagine having to tell your boss you crashed the company chopper because some weekend hacker got a little too enthusiastic with their swing?!

The Executive Director of Mosquito Control Daniel Huff (yes, that's apparently a real job title) stressed the importance of the helicopters to their work. Even he was left shaking his head in disbelief: "The safety of our employees and our contractors is my top priority. Helicopters are an essential part of Mosquito Control operations, allowing the District to treat for mosquito larvae in large wetlands during the short window between when eggs hatch and when adult mosquitoes emerge from the water."

Maybe keep those feet planted firmly on the ground next time, folks! In the meantime, let me know if any of you manage to top this feat - I've got a feeling it could be a while before we see another sky high hole-in-one!
