PGA Tour releases 2025 schedule with no involvement of LIV Golf in sight

The PGA Tour has mapped out its 2025 season in full view of golf fans everywhere, sharing details on next year's lineup of marquee events even as discussions with Saudi Arabia's PIF roll on behind closed doors.

The lineup of 39 regular season tournaments and three-event FedEx Cup Playoffs remains largely unchanged. Notably, Commissioner Jay Monahan did not share updated purse details.

Speaking from the FedEx St. Jude Championship, PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan weighed in on how the recently unveiled 2025 schedule relates to ongoing discussions with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.

When asked if no changes to the lineup indicates a potential deal may not impact operations until 2026 or later, Monahan responded "I think that's fair."

Notably, the rival LIV Golf series - which is backed financially by the Saudi PIF - has yet to announce its fourth season itinerary.

"The new schedule and competitive changes introduced in 2024 were significant steps toward creating the best version of the PGA Tour for our fans and players," Monahan remarked. “Fields were significantly stronger across the board, while the signature events provided fans more opportunities to see the PGA Tour’s best competing head-to-head. As we enter the second year of this reimagined schedule, one thing remains a constant—winning on the PGA Tour continues to rank among the most difficult and rewarding accomplishments in sport.”

The PGA Tour campaign will again kick off in tropical Hawaii, with Kapalua hosting The Sentry to start eight marquee invitationals offering a bountiful 700 FedEx Cup points to the winner.

Highlights of 2025 include the return of firm fan favorites like the Memorial Tournament to its traditional late May/early June dates: AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (Jan. 27-Feb. 2); Genesis Invitational (Feb. 10-16); Arnold Palmer Invitational (March 3-9); RBC Heritage (April 14-20); Truist Championship (formerly sponsored by Wells Fargo, May 5-11); the Memorial Tournament (May 26-June 1); Travelers Championship (June 16-22). The Wells Fargo Championship will shift venues due to a major being in town at Quail Hollow, settling in instead at the Philadelphia Cricket Club.

Eight can't-miss invitational stops will again grace the season, delivering fatter purses, rich FedEx Cup points and guaranteed casts of golf's top 72 performers minimum. And the playoffs - kicking off with St. Jude, then BMW and Tour Championship shows - will deliver the same dramatic conclusion to another exhausting campaign.

While closed-door talks with Saudi partners of rival circuit LIV Golf press on under fans' watchful eyes, the PGA Tour has provided clarity on a new year's lineup of historic tournaments, elite competitions and climactic postseason. Only time will show if a ground-changing deal arises before 2026 after all. For now, it's full steam ahead for a 2025 season PGA fans won't want to miss.
