My friends, it seems Jhonattan Vegas' drive on the par-5 12th hole on Sunday had a little more "excitement" than he bargained for. According to eye witnesses and sources on the scene, Vegas' bomb off the tee found an unlikely landing spot - right on the arm of a nearby police officer!
Now I know what you're thinking - is Vegas in handcuffs right now?? Will he have to do community service instead of collecting that fat winner's check? Well according to our insider at the 12th green, the officer saw the humor in the situation and gave Vegas a free drop, no punishment necessary. Whew! Can you imagine having to explain that one to the judge? "Your honor, in my defense, the ball had a total mind of its own!"

Vegas managed to hang onto his overall lead at that point in the round, which is impressive focus given the chaos that had just unfolded. He two-putted for par and stayed under the card. Eventually the rest is history - Vegas closed with a final round 17-under 267 overall to edge out Max Greyserman by a shot. Dare I say the run-in with the boys in blue provided a little extra karma?!
