Former world number one Dustin Johnson has struggled for form on the LIV Golf circuit this season, but found a welcome distraction at the weekend by celebrating his 40th birthday in style.

Johnson, who won the inaugural LIV event in June, has failed to kick on from that victory and has three top-10 finishes but only one top-five result from his subsequent five starts. His most recent outing was a disappointing tied 51st at LIV Golf Nashville.
The American, once a dominant force in men's golf, has also missed cuts at both The Masters and US Open this year, only making it to the weekend at the PGA Championship where he ended up tied 43rd.
It has been a frustrating season for the big-hitting Johnson, but he was able to put his golf clubs to one side and enjoy some downtime on Saturday as wife Paulina Gretzky threw him an epic western-themed birthday bash.
Gretzky, the daughter of ice hockey legend Wayne, spared no expense as she hosted friends and family at a luxurious venue carefully decorated in cowhide fabrics and rustic furnishings befitting the wild west motif.

Guests partied well into the night wearing cowboy boots, hats and country-inspired outfits while tucking into a lavish feast. Johnson and Gretzky, who married in 2022, looked every inch the chic couple in their coordinating leather and denim ensemble.
It was certainly a night for Johnson to forget any golfing frustrations as he was serenaded and celebrated into his fifth decade. For one night, it was all about Johnson relaxing in style with his family as wife Paulina helped lead an epic celebration to mark the golfer turning 40 in truly grand fashion.
Dustin Johnson isn't completely out of it yet as the inaugural LIV Golf season starts winding down. Currently holding down 11th in the individual standings, DJ knows he's still within striking distance of the lead packs. His squad, 4 Aces GC, occupies 10th place in the team race too. Their next stop is LIV Golf Andalucia next month - a chance to build some momentum on home soil. DJ and the boys both find themselves near the top of the leaderboards, with a few events left to make moves. Plenty of golf remains for the veteran to climb higher before the season wraps up. While consistency has been an issue, Dusty J is keeping himself in reasonable position as he aims to finish the debut LIV campaign on a strong note.

Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky first connected at a pro-am event through Janet Jones, Paulina's mother. Johnson said yes when Jones asked him if he would like to meet Paulina following the round. Paulina's father Wayne Gretzky and Johnson's agent and friend Pat Perez were among the guests on their first date, which took place at the Gretzky family home. Paulina claimed that despite the size of the group, it was a "chill environment" where they were free to be who they are. Early in 2013, the pair began dating, and later that year, they became engaged.
