(Lausanne, Switzerland) - The International Golf Federation has confirmed the fields for the men's and women's Olympic golf competitions to be held at Paris 2024.

The men's tournament will take place August 1-4 at Le Golf National in Guyancourt, France. The women will compete August 7-10 at the same venue.

Le Golf National has hosted both DP World Tour and Ryder Cup events previously. It will provide a world-class test for the top golfers representing their countries at the Games.

A total of 32 countries qualified men's teams, while 33 nations earned spots in the women's competition. The USA led the way by qualifying the maximum of 4 men and 3 women.

Some of golf's biggest stars have secured their places in Paris. In the men's field, 10 of the top 15 in the Official World Golf Ranking are set to participate, including all of the top-5 ranked players.

Similarly, all 15 female players inside the top 15 of the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings at present will tee it up for their countries.

Among them are reigning Olympic gold medalist Nelly Korda of the United States. Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler and Collin Morikawa will spearhead the strong American men's challenge.

Overall athletes from 38 different National Olympic Committees worldwide will be chasing medals across the two competitions. It shows golf's growth as an Olympic sport with appeal and competitors on every continent.

The IGF says Paris 2024 presents another chance to showcase golf to new audiences around the globe. Building on the success of the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics is the goal as qualification is now complete for the showcase events in France.

Who will seize the opportunity to add Olympic glory to their career achievements? We now know the talented fields of professionals who will get the chance to learn at Le Golf National in two years' time.
