My friends, I have just received word of an epic twinning fail at the BMW PGA Championship that simply cannot go underreported. You know how confusing twins can be, even for Tour pros - just ask Justin Rose and Billy Horschel, who suffered a brutal mistaken identity moment with Danish sensation Nicolai Hojgaard.
According to sources on site, Horschel informed Rose that the long-haired Hojgaard twin sitting nearby was in fact Rasmus Hojgaard, who had just won the Irish Open. Rose, being the polite English gent that he is, went straight over to congratulate "Rasmus." But in strode little brother Nicolai to reveal that the celebratory praise was terribly misdirected - it was he, and not Rasmus, overdue for a trip to Supercuts. Awkward!
Looks like @BillyHo_Golf and @JustinRose99 need to do their research on identifying the Højgaard twins... 😅#BMWPGA | #RolexSeries pic.twitter.com/031TTwi8c3

Witnesses say poor Rose turned absolutely scarlet with embarrassment, while Horschel laughed it off through the pain. "I was telling your brother," a red-faced Horschel was overheard telling actual Irish Open champ Rasmus, "He needs to shave his head." No truer words have ever been spoken, Billy! A distinguishing haircut is clearly in order for these Norwegian nippers.

In their defense, the Hojgaard lads do make a habit of dressing identically on the course, practically begging for confusion. But still, you'd think two Tour veterans could tell between the twin who just won and the one who didn't! Consider this a lesson learned for Rose and Horschel. And a reminder for the Hojgaards - in the words of that famous twins PSA, "you gotta wear two different socks so your folks can tell you apart!" Yikes, what an awkward situation. Consider me eagerly awaiting the next mistaken identity mix-up!
