(MAINEVILLE, Ohio) - Lydia Ko has further cemented her reputation as one of the most dynamic golfers in the world after completing a wire-to-wire victory at the Kroger Queen City Championship on Sunday. The Kiwi superstar turned a two-shot deficit into a five-shot rout, capping her week with a scintillating 9-under 63.
Ko has now won three times in her last four starts after a summer that included Olympic gold and a major championship triumph. She showed immense composure in erasing Jeeno Thitikul's lead, starting with a clutch birdie on 10 to knot the score. Ko then stepped on the gas with an eagle bomb on 11 to seize momentum.
From there, the 27-year-old struck crucial up-and-downs to wiggle free from her fellow contenders. She played the final seven holes in 6-under to leave Thitikul, who closed with 70, in her wake. Ko's laser-like approach work and ice water veins were on full display down the stretch.

After opening a five-shot lead through 54 holes, Ko was ruthless in her pursuit of victory on Sunday.
While Jeeno Thitikul played her heart out and closed with an eye-catching birdie, it was merely enough to snag solo second place ahead of Haeran Ryu. Thitikul couldn't keep pace with Ko's brilliance, especially once the Kiwi struck the gas with consecutive two-shot swings on 13 and 15.
“It’s just like insane — it’s super insane. Her putter was on fire today,” Thitikul said. “I respect her as like my older sister, as a legend, and also as my role model. It was such a really good experience watching her in my eyes on the same tee box, on the same greens, just like VIP seat.”
The Thai star expressed admiration for Ko as both a competitor and role model afterwards. As the current measuring stick on tour, Ko has firmly cemented her legend in such a dominant campaign.
“To have a round like this to cap off a win is pretty special,” she said.
Nelly Korda's solid week left her satisfied in a tie for fifth, though the world No. 1 was unable to apply pressure on Ko at the top. Ko now sets her sights on a major milestone - win No. 30 - in her homeland next week. Based on this scorching form, there's no reason to bet against another Ko triumph as her stellar season rolls on.
