CBS Expanding Coverage Of 2025 Masters Tournament

In a move sure to be welcomed by golf fans everywhere, Augusta National Golf Club and their broadcast partners at CBS have announced added television coverage for the 2025 Masters Tournament.

While the Masters maintains its reputation as one of the most exclusive events in all of sports, it's also remarkably accessible thanks to the near wall-to-wall coverage available digitally. Still, with the tournament traditionally airing for just nine hours on CBS over the weekends, there had been some rumblings that viewers wanted more action on their TV screens.

Well those voices will now be appeased, as it was revealed this week CBS will be on-air for a total of 10 hours during Masters weekend next April. Headlining the changes is an extra hour of Saturday afternoon coverage, giving fans more potential viewing from 2-7pm Eastern both days.

In addition, subscribers to CBS' streaming platform Paramount+ will enjoy an additional two hours online prior to the television broadcast on Saturday and Sunday.

The expanded package is a sign of Augusta National's consistent efforts to better cater their coverage to audiences. While preservation of the tournamnet's mystique remains top priority, chairman Fred Ridley knows accessibility helps deepen fans' connection to this storied event.

Details released on the enhanced 2025 Masters TV schedule reveal broadcast golf is in for a real treat next April. CBS will now hold court over the greatest tournament's action for a full 10 hours over the Saturday and Sunday weekends, up from nine previously.

Heading the changes is an additional hour of Saturday afternoon coverage on CBS, meaning fans can immerse themselves in the lore of Amen Corner from 2-7pm both days. Further enriching the experience, Paramount+ subscribers will enjoy two exclusive hours of early round coverage online.

This boost to 15 total hours of coverage across networks and platforms makes for the most extensive Masters television schedule to date. It's yet another milestone in Augusta National's slow but purposeful expansion of viewers' accessibility over the decades.

From an era where the club protected each inch of their property relentlessly, we've now come to expect innovative offerings like last year's groundbreaking Masters VR app. And it all stems from Chairman Ridley's vision of sharing their tradition far and wide.

While these adjustments alone don't shake the PGA Tour, they speak volumes about the Masters' resolve to bring audiences closer to the action. With new opportunities in store for April 2025, anticipation is sure to hit a fever pitch.
