Nelly Korda has been in sparkling form so far this season, winning six times on the LPGA Tour between January and May to take over the number one ranking. However, the 26-year-old admits she has struggled for form over the past two months, missing cuts in her last three starts.
While most athletes traveling to Paris for the Olympics have lofty goals of winning gold, world number one Nelly Korda is also chasing a far more decadent dream - to taste the city's viral Crookie pastries. In a pre-tournament intro that was equal parts charming and hilarious, Korda confessed her plan is to not only "play some good golf" but also sample the croissant-cookie hybrid that has taken social media by storm.

As any self-respecting foodie knows, the Crookie was invented earlier this year by legendary Parisian baker Stephane Louvard. With flaky croissant dough mixed with melty chocolate chips, these croissant-cookie combos immediately went viral online for their over-the-top indulgence. Now shops from NYC to Cali are trying to replicate the French original, but Korda understands there's no replacing the real deal straight from the source.

Between practice rounds, you can likely find Nelly scouring the streets of Paris for the perfect pastry pitstop. While medals are nice, sometimes you just need a little sugar to power your game. Let's hope she succeeds in both her on-course and tasting adventures this week. The sports world will be locked in to see if she can deliver under pressure on two very different fronts. Bonne chance and bon appetit, Nell!
