The 2024 Genesis Scottish Open is set to tee off on July 11th at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland. All eyes will be on defending champion and world No. 2 Rory McIlroy as he returns as the betting favorite against a stellar international field.
Rory McIlroy
McIlroy is listed at +800 odds to win according to DraftKings. He'll look to rebound from a heartbreaking loss to Bryson DeChambeau at the 2024 U.S. Open. Fellow major champions Xander Schauffele, Ludvig Aberg, Collin Morikawa, and Viktor Hovland also loom as top contenders.

Tommy Fleetwood
However, Sarah Williams of GolfAQ is touting a few under-the-radar players who could be poised for their first PGA Tour victories. Englishman Tommy Fleetwood, currently at 20/1 odds, is highlighted as a player who seems due to win overseas. Fleetwood has already finished T-4 (2022) and T-6 (2023) at The Renaissance Club and arrives in strong form with four top-20 results in his last six starts.

Tom Kim
Another young gun getting a pick from Sarah is rising star Tom Kim of South Korea. Fresh off a playoff loss at the Travelers Championship, Kim at 25/1 odds could take advantage of links-style conditions that play into his game. Past Renaissance performances of T3 in 2022 and T6 in 2023 show he knows how to navigate this Tom Doak design.

Min Woo Lee - The 2021 champion at the Renaissance Club is seen as a top 5 contender
With the British Open looming, many of the world's top golfers will be dialing things in at The Renaissance Club. But according to the experts, keep an eye on Fleetwood and Kim as two names who may etch their names atop the Scottish Open winner's list for the first time.
